Dayami Fernandes, the founder of Conscientia Counselling, talking about Individual Counselling
Individual therapy is a broad category that involves a one-on-one relationship between the therapist and the client. It’s unique because it is the only relationship solely focused on benefiting you- the client.
Unlike other mutually beneficial relationships, the therapeutic relationship exists solely to support your well-being. We are happy to offer individual counselling in Calgary.

Many people seek therapy or counselling during a crisis, but others come for the benefit of having a compassionate, non-judgmental listener. A therapist can act as a sounding board, helping you process anything from:
A skilled therapist at Conscientia Counselling provides a supportive space to explore your thoughts and concerns. Together, you will identify the most effective therapeutic approach and evidence-based counselling modalities (whether it is IFS, EMDR, CBT or other approaches) to create meaningful, lasting change and support your personal goals.

Individual therapy provides a confidential, supportive space to work with a trained professional who is invested in your growth and well-being. Rather than remaining constrained by past experiences, ingrained coping strategies, or unhelpful patterns, therapy helps you develop insight, resilience, and practical tools for meaningful change. At Conscientia Counselling, our goal is to empower you to move beyond these limitations, make intentional choices, and build a life that aligns with your values and potential.
At Conscientia Counselling, we don’t believe therapy should last forever. We view the therapeutic process as a revolving door, allowing clients to return for support whenever life becomes challenging. Some concerns can be addressed in a few sessions, while others require deeper work over months or years. Our goal is for you to feel confident stepping back into your life, applying what you have learned and discovered, and when new challenges arise, we hope you can return for a check-in and continue growing. This practical, real-life approach has been so effective that many clients refer their partners, siblings, and even colleagues, recognizing the value of having a neutral, supportive mental health professional by their side.
